The llms.txt specification originated with Answer.AI's Jeremy Howard in September 2024 and has been refined by an open community of practitioners. Not yet a chartered standard but widely adopted in 2025.

- llms.txt A plain-text manifest at /llms.txt that tells AI agents what your site is and where the canonical content lives. Early but rapidly adopting.
